A musical experience unique to Hoshino Resorts KAI Matsumoto

Hoshino Resorts KAI Matsumoto puts on simply stunning concerts for its guests every night... Let the music play!

Matsumoto, a city in the Nagano prefecture, echoes to the sound of music. Its prestigious school for kids and teenagers, “Toho Gakuen School of Music“, and its famous festival, “Seiji Ozawa Matsumoto Festival“, make this a destination of choice for music-lovers.

Japanese music players

And as proof that the city really is cradled by music, a significant proportion of the population plays an instrument. So it makes perfect sense for Hoshino Resorts KAI Matsumoto to welcome two musicians each evening, to give a concert exclusively for the hotel’s guests.

Let the music play

Japanese classical music concert

Just after dinner, the room turns into an intimate concert hall. The chairs are placed in rows, ready for the audience. The two musicians take their places. One sits at the piano, the second, a flautist or a violinist, takes his place in front of the partition door. Some of the artists who appear at Hoshino Resorts KAI Matsumoto are teachers at the city’s school, some are professional musicians, and they are all virtuosos.

Private classic music show

From the very first notes, the music carries you away. Every piece, whether from the classical or the contemporary repertoire or even from the pop charts, is played with brio and is an intensely emotional experience. You can hardly fail to be captivated by such grace…

Your eyes are drawn by the dexterity of the fingers on the piano keys, your ear follows the melody and appreciates the harmony between the two artists. Each listens to the other, attentive to the rhythm and the beat, both concentrating hard in order to give the private audience a concert of the highest quality.
