The autumn colours are spectacular in Kyoto – and even more so when seen from the sky!
Imagine gazing down on the iconic Kiyomizu-dera temple, encircled by a mass of bright red foliage. Or flying over the famous Golden Pavilion (Kinkakuji) with maple leaves reflected in its pond. Or how about an aerial view of the thickly-forested hills of Arashiyama?
From November 20 to December 5, HOSHINOYA Kyoto is offering a private helicopter tour of the city for one group per day. You’ll be driven to a helipad in the city’s southern Fushimi ward before embarking on an unforgettable 25 minutes of sightseeing from 1500 ft above the ground.
There’s no better way to beat the crowds and have the city to yourself!
Already know which sights you’d like to see from the sky?
Your pilot will adapt the route to take in your wish list. Or you can defer to their expertise and let them guide you to the most photogenic sites, including those with the most vibrant autumn colours.
During the flight, you can communicate with your pilot through a headset mic. So feel free to ask questions and take advantage of their local knowledge.
Sitting under a 400-year-old Japanese maple, you’ll be able to sip on matcha green tea or sparkling wine with a wagashi sweet. A great way to come back to earth after your trip in the skies.
